PAST PROJECTS

Nature Conservation projects

We have taken initiatives in three important areas such as Wildlife, Tree planting, and Plastic waste recycling.

Panda

WWF COLLABORATION

WWF -World Wildlife Fund is an international non-profit organization dedicated for preservation and conservation of nature and its different species. One of their offices was located in Chennai. We contacted the officials in Chennai and got approval to set up a local office in Thudiyalur. This was done with an idea of promoting this organization by the brochures released by WWF, Pamphlets and sales materials, backpacks and so on. The office was opened in 2001 at Coimbatore and was closed a year later because they opened their own office in Coimbatore.

PROVIDING WATER FOR ANIMALS

Coimbatore faces a lot of human animal conflicts due to rapid urbanization. The animals in the forest have lead to face water scarcity. In summer the situation of the animals tend worsen. Subsequently these animals reach out to nearby urban areas in search of water and finally end up causing human animal conflict. In order to prevent such conflicts we visited nearby forests with the permission of government officials of Coimbatore and filled the artificial animal water bodies with water. This was very helpful to animals during summer.

PLASTIC WASTE RECYCLING

An estimated 8 million tonnes of plastic is yearly released into the ocean, leading to degradation of marine habitat which eventually affects aquatic organisms. Indiscriminate disposal of plastics on land and open air burning can lead to the release of toxic chemicals into the air causing public health hazards. There is a minimal or no awareness among the individuals over the impacts of plastic waste. On considering this problem we engaged two workers in Road side plastic waste cleaning around the outskirts of Kalapatti Coimbatore. Our company provided them electric vehicle to carry the wastes . Also our company employees and school students actively participated in plastic waste collection during weekends . We successfully collected around 1 ton of  plastic wastes that in turn was finally handed over to the plastic recycling plant

MAKE MY HOMETOWN CLEAN AND GREEN

As a part of our Initiatives, we have planted trees extensively across different schools in the city and its suburbs. The planting of trees were done in Government schools and asked to be supervised by a group of volunteer by watering them and protecting the environment. In order to appreciate their efforts and constant persistent actions, after one year we bear the educational cost of the volunteers who has taken care of the growth of the trees in their premises.

MIYAWAKI METHOD

We aim to reduce the growth of invasive plants by employing Miyawaki method

What we do: Projects

CURRENT PROJECTS

ARPUDHA VANAM

A Real Success

Though our forests, sanctuaries and Wildlife Reserves are preserved well, not much thought has gone into the trees and flora that constitute the forests. Many indigenous trees, plants have been wiped out making it hostile to birds and animals and many areas of forests are uninhabited by either animals or birds. Many species of invasive plants are hostile in their spread and have taken over entire landscapes and forest areas. It is hence mandatory to clear these species and introduce native and indigenous trees & plants and create an ecosystem where the native flora and fauna can thrive.

Package Delivery

PACKAGING WASTE MINIMIZATION

Perfect Execution

As a part of our Initiatives, we aim to reduce the packaging waste. Packaging waste accounts to nearly a third of the municipal waste. Packaging materials like boxes, containers, pallets, wraps, straps, can be reused for certain products and we are stressing on the importance to deliver the product and get back the box/ container.
